This year, the holy month of Ramadan is starting 11 days earlier than it did last year on the Gregorian calendar. During Ramadan, the dates change by about 11 days each year. This is because the Islamic calendar has fewer days, with each month being either 29 or 30 days long.

When is Ramadan 2024?

Ramadan 2024 will start on March 11, 2024, and end on April 9, 2024. Eid al-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. This date may change because we need to see the moon first before we start Ramadan.

If Ramadan 2024 start date is on March 11, then the first day of fasting will be on March 12. Ramadan starts at sunset because, in Islam, each day starts at that time. Muslims will start praying Taraweeh at night on March 11 and begin fasting at dawn on March 12 for Ramadan 2024.

What is Ramadan and Ramadan Prayer?

Ramadan is the most holy month in the Islamic calendar. Muslims believe that during this month, Allah gave the Quran, which is Islam’s holy book, to Prophet Muhammad on a night called “The Night of Power. ” Allah also revealed to Him that He was a Prophet and responsible for spreading Allah’s message. During Ramadan, it is believed that the doors to heaven are open and the doors to hell are closed.

“When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.” (Sahih Bukhari: 1899) Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) said:

Fasting (Sawm)

Many Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for the whole month of Ramadan, which is a very special and important time for the Muslim community.

Fasting (Sawm) is an important practice in Islam and it means not eating or drinking during certain times. Fasting happens in the Islamic calendar at other times too, but it is mostly connected to Ramadan, the month-long fast. Fasting is important during Ramadan. People who are healthy and able should fast during this special time. Fasting happens every day from morning to evening during Ramadan, and our schedule helps us know when to get ready for it. It is important to know the fasting times. If you are still eating before dawn when the call to prayer goes off, you can’t fast that day.

“Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness.”(Surah Al-Baqarah: 2:183)Almighty Allah says in the Quran:

Muslims should continue doing their normal activities during the month. But they should spend more time praying, reading the Qur’an, helping people in need, and thinking about their connection with Allah.

When the sun goes down, Muslims usually eat a date and drink some milk or water to end their fast. Then they have a bigger meal called iftār after evening prayer, which is often a buffet with their family or community.

Pay Zakat al-Fitr

Ramadan is usually a time when people give to those in need. Muslims who have enough money must give a part of it, called zakat, to help their community and other Muslims who are in need. During Ramadan, giving to charity is thought to be even more important for cleansing the soul than at other times.

Before Ramadan ends and Eid al-Fitr prayer, Muslims should give Zakat al-Fitr, a charity of food. You can help people who are not as lucky to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their friends and family by giving Zakat al-Fitr through Muslim Aid. We will give food to those who need it the most.

You can give Zakat al-Fitr any time during the month, but many people choose to donate on Laylat al-Qadr, which is in the last 10 days of Ramadan. The Night of Power is a special time when you can earn more rewards than usual.

What is Eid al-Fitr?

Eid al-Fitr is a celebration that comes after a month of fasting. It is also called the Festival of Sweets or Festival of Breaking the Fast. The celebration happens in the first three days of the next month in the Islamic calendar, Shawwal. This year, Ramadan 2024 will end, then Eid is expected to start around April 9 when the new moon is seen.

Eid al-Fitr is a happy time when people come together to celebrate. It comes after a month of fasting and reflecting on their faith. It’s a time to have fun with loved ones. After the morning Eid prayers, people celebrate by having festivals, getting together with friends and family, wearing nice clothes, giving gifts, helping others, and having fun.
