Eid al-Adha is a celebration called “feast of the sacrifice. ” It held about two months after Eid al-Fitr and lasts for four days.

The party starts with the takbir, which is a call to prayer, and the Eid prayer usually happens in big open areas. After praying, people visit their family and friends and say sorry to each other. 

Eid al-Fitr In Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, Eid celebrations begin when the new moon is seen. Muslims go to mosques or big open areas to pray on Eid. After praying, they say “Eid Mubarak” to each other. They celebrate by eating, and spending time with their loved ones. People go to see their family and friends and have a big meal together. They also give presents to kids and old people.

Eid al-Fitr In Pakistan

In Pakistan, Eid is called Eid ul-Fitr. (In Pakistan, Eid is known as Eid ul-Fitr) The party begins when we see the new moon in the sky. On Eid day, people wear new clothes and pray in mosques or open areas. After the prayer, people go to see their family and friends and give presents to each other. Pakistani Muslims cook special food like biryani, kheer, and sheer khurma during the celebrations.

Eid al-Fitr In Turkey

In Turkey, Eid is called Sugar Feast, because sweet treats are an important part of the celebration. Turkish people start their day by washing and wearing new clothes. Then they go to their older family members to ask for their blessings and forgiveness. Kids get candies and cash from older people. People in Turkey make traditional foods like baklava and halva.

How is Eid al-Adha Celebrated Worldwide and When is Eid Prayer Time?

Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid al-Adha, which remembers when Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail as God asked. Eid al-Adha In Pakistan

In Pakistan, Eid al-Adha lasts for 4 days. On Eid day, people pray in the morning, then sacrifice an animal and have a big family meal. The Qurbani tradition started from the stories in holy books about Ibrahim showing his obedience to Allah by being willing to sacrifice his son. Allah let him sacrifice a sheep instead of sacrificing his son.

Eid al-Adha Indonesia

Indonesia has the most Muslims in the world, about 12. 7% of all Muslims. On Eid al-Adha morning, more than 200 million Muslims wear their nicest clothes and come together to pray at mosques. No matter where you live, everyone prays and exchanges gifts on Eid in the same way.

In Egypt, they often call Eid al-Adha “Eid el-Kabir”. The festival begins just like any other festival. Eid Prayers will be followed by a sermon and then a big family meal. During Eid in Egypt, people generously give food and meat to charity for those who are in need.

Importance of Eid Prayer Time

When is Eid Prayer Time? 

People pray on the morning of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The timing of these prayers is not the same as the prayers we usually do every day. The Eid prayers are held after the sun comes up but before noon, around the time when Duha prayers are usually said. The time may be different in different places and at different times of the sunrise. Usually, the Eid prayers are done 1 to 2 hours after the sun comes up.

How to Prepare for Eid Prayer?

Before you start praying, when you wake up in the morning: 

• Take a shower to cleanse yourself. 
• It’s good to eat something, even if you haven’t been doing it regularly. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ate dates before going to pray. 
• Wear your nicest clothes. Muslims should clean themselves, wear their best clothes, and smell good for a day of celebrating. 
• Recite the common prayers while going to the Eid prayer.

How to Offer Eid Prayers

“I attended the ‘Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He led us in offering the ‘Eid prayer, and then he said: ‘I have finished the prayer. Whoever wants to sit (and listen to) the sermon, then let him sit, and whoever wants to leave, then let him leave.'” [Sunan Ibn Majah] It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Sa’ib said:

“The prayer of al-Fitr is two rak’ahs and the prayer of al-Adha is two rak’ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of your Prophet, and the one who fabricates lies is doomed.” [Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 1420 and Ibn Khuzaymah. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i] ‘‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

How Many Rak’ahs and takbeers in Eid al-Fitr

The Eid ul-Fitr prayer is made up of 2 sets of movements.

Takbeer means saying “Allah-Hu-Akbar” to start the prayer and raising your hands to your ears. It is an Arabic word. Regular prayers only require saying ‘takbeer’ once, but for Eid prayer, you have to say ‘takbeer’ 12 times in two units of prayer. This is the way it is done during Eid prayer.

How Many Rak’ahs and takbeers in Eid al-Adha

The Eid prayer has two parts. Each part is called a Rakat. This prayer is different because it has more Takbirs than other two-Rakat prayers. Intend to pray two rakats with the Imam during Eid prayer and say six extra Takbirs. 

Takbeer is a word in Arabic that means when the prayer starts and you say “Allah-Hu-Akbar” and raise your hands to your ears. During regular prayers, ‘takbeer’ is said just once, but for the Eid prayer, you have to say ‘takbeer’ 12 times in two sets of prayer.

Step by Step Guide for Eid Prayer

Here are the steps for how to perform Eid prayer and information about the Eid prayer takbeer. 

The Eid prayer begins by intending to pray two necessary rakats for Eid-ul-Fitr with necessary takbeers. To start your prayer, first make a clear intention and then say a special prayer. 

Next, you need to lift your hands to your ears and say Allahu Akbar. This is the end of the first takbeer. 

After you say that, put your hands down and say Subhan Allah three times. 

The second and third takbeer need to be done the same way, but this time you put your hands on your chest instead of resting them on your sides. 

“Listen to the Imam as he reads Surah Fatiha and another Surah while you pray your first and second rakat. “ Say the three Takbeers as before, but instead of crossing your hands, keep them by your sides. 

Khutbah

After we pray, there is a sermon called Khutbah. Listening to this is part of worship and it is recommended to do so. During the Khutbah, the Imam talks about what the community should do to be good Muslims and help others. He encourages people to do good things and stop bad things.

“I attended the ‘Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ(. He led us in offering the ‘Eid prayer, and then he said: ‘I have finished the prayer. Whoever wants to sit (and listen to) the sermon, then let him sit, and whoever wants to leave, then let him leave.'” [Sunan Ibn Majah].
