(The prayer is better than sleep)

The Fajr prayer is one of the five daily prayers. We get up early in the morning, give up our sleep, and come to Allah to make Him happy and ask for His help.

The people who pray Fajr, wake up early in the morning. They think better than others. Typically, it is noticed that they are more energetic and can do things faster than others.

Aysha (May Allah be pleased with him), one of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (PBUH) wives, said that the Prophet said it is really good to pray two Rakahs before the Fajr prayer

Muslims believe in offering prayer five times a day, which is called salah. The Fajr prayer start time, which means the dawn prayer, is the first prayer of the day. Muslim prayer has specific movements and recitations that need to be done correctly. It is normal to feel unsure or nervous about doing it. Here, you can find answers to your most common questions about how to do the Fajr prayer (Salat) correctly.

 The Time of Fajr Prayer

Dawn happens at diverse times all through the year and depends on your area. Check your neighbourhood dawn times and perform the supplication right sometime recently at that point

In the Muslim calendar, Fajr is the third prayer of the day because the Muslim day starts at sundown. But, because a regular day begins at midnight, this makes it the first prayer of the day.

If you struggle to remember when to pray Fajr, some apps and websites can tell you the right times and send you reminders.

The Direction of Qibla

This is an important part of all Muslim prayers. Mecca is a very important city for Islam, and Muslims pray for it. In North America, the Qibla is towards the east and a little bit to the north, but it may vary depending on your location. Face this direction for the whole prayer.

If you don’t know which way to go, some websites and apps can help you find the right direction.

How Many Rakats in Fajr Prayer

This prayer is the first important prayer out of the five daily prayers. Muslims pray 4 times at the time of Fajr.

First, you should offer 2 rakats of Sunnah.

After that, two rakats of fard prayer are offered.

It is important to pray these two Rakahs before Fajr. Our prophet always prayed the two extra prayers of Fajr and never missed them, even when travelling, even though he was allowed to skip them.

According To Quran And Sunnah

The Quran and the teachings of the Prophet emphasise that it is good to sleep early and wake up early. In other words, Allah, who is very kind, says,

“And We have made your sleep as a rest.”[Quran 78:9]

1. Fajr Prayer Gives the Positive Energy

Praying in the morning helps us start the day with good energy. But, when we make a habit of praying Fajr and focus on it spiritually, it helps bring blessings and goodness into our entire day.

“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give Zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.”(Quran, 2:277)

The Fajr prayer time is when we can feel close to Allah and receive His blessings. The early morning prayer is a special time. You don’t need to worry about being tired because it can make you feel more awake and energised for the rest of the day with regular practice.

2. Protect us from Satan And Sins

Praying is indeed a way to call Allah. In prayers, Muslims can ask Allah for anything they want, like going to paradise, forgiven their sins, or getting blessings. Muslims do not have to ask Allah for protection because he gives it to them without asking. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said this in a hadith.

“Whoever prays the Fajr prayer, he or she is then under Allah’s protection. So beware, O son or daughter of Adam, that Allah does not call you to account for being absent from His protection for any reason.” (Muslim)

Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

“Whoever offers the Morning Prayer, he is under the protection of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime”(Ibn Majah)

3. Fajr prayer is the greatest reward

Hazrat Muhammad Peace be upon him) said,

“Whoever prays the morning prayer in congregation, then he sits remembering Allah until the sun rises and prays two Rakahs (Duha) will have a reward similar to the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage.”

Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) has said,

“When the time for Salat sets in, the doors of the heavens are opened for the ascension of the (good) deeds.”

4. Protects From Hell-Fire

People who pray Fajr and Maghrib will not go to Hell. One important thing to remember is that you can’t avoid Hell by just praying for Fajr and Maghrib once. You need to pray regularly. A hadith is connected to this.

“Whoever performs the Prayer before the rising of the sun and the Prayer before its setting will not enter Hell.”(Muslim)

The Hadith says if you pray in the morning and evening regularly, you won’t go to hell.

The Morning prayer is important for Muslims because it protects them from Hell if they pray Fajr Namaz regularly.

5. Leads to Paradise

“Whoever offers the two prayers (Asr and Fajr) will enter Paradise.” (Bukhari)

On judgement day, everyone will be asked about praying five times a day. To go to paradise, a person should not miss the early morning prayer, even if it means giving up sleep and waking up very early just to please Allah.

Fajr Prayer Benefits for Physical and Mental Health

Praying in the morning helps them be on time and focused. Also, they are spiritually engaged, optimistic, confident, and have creativity.

“And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise again” (Qur’an 25:47)

Sleep is a gift from Allah. After a long day, a person is excited to sleep and get their energy back for the next day. Getting enough sleep is important for staying healthy and staying safe. Not getting enough sleep can cause mental illness, issues in relationships, missing work, and even traffic accidents.

There are many benefits for health. Getting up early and doing things like praying, reading the Quran, and starting work early can be good for your physical and mental health. Someone can accomplish many tasks after the morning prayer.

Research has found that not sleeping at night and in the early morning increases the release of TSH while sleeping decreases it. This study agrees with the Prophet’s habit of sleeping right after the evening prayer and waking up early in the morning to pray.

Studies found that staying up all night works because lack of sleep affects the hormone that controls our metabolism and energy levels. Around a quarter to a third of people with depression have low TSH levels.

Medical research shows that if you need more than eight hours of sleep, you should eat better and try to sleep less. Even the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that people who stayed awake all night praying should take breaks and get some sleep because extreme lack of sleep is not good for them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Fajr prayer has many benefits. God gives amazing gifts and blessings to people who pray in the morning every day. Muslims are blessed and feel good in body, mind, and soul when they pray the Fajr Salat early in the morning and stay active.
